This season is the 75th season for the NBA. For that occasion, the league announced the 75th Anniversary Team of 75 players. Lakers center Dwight Howard did not make the list and was expecting that he would not make it.

“I knew I wasn’t going to be on it,” Howard told Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report. When asked why, he replied with “Politics”.

“I already knew,” Howard continued. “I knew as soon as they made that 75 list, I said ‘Yeah, they aren’t going to put me on the 75 list… Forget about it.'”

At the same time, he is confident that he should have been on the list. “I most definitely should be on that list. But it’s okay. It is all okay. I am not upset about it. I was for probably 30 seconds.

“But I said ‘You know what? Life is great. I’m alive. I’m still playing basketball in my 18th season. Who cares about a list made by people who ain’t never bounced a basketball before. Who cares?'”
