This past offseason, Alex Caruso joined the Chicago Bulls after four years with the Los Angeles Lakers. The 27-year-old point guard became a fan favorite during the years in LA, but reportedly did not receive a serious offer from the Lakers when he became a free agent.

Recently, anonymous NBA executives ripped the Lakers for not keeping Caruso, who, according to them, would have been a useful piece on the team this year.

In a recent interview on The Old Man & The Three podcast, Caruso opened up about his free agency. “I really didn’t know what to expect,” he said. “And I really didn’t hear much from any team, including the Lakers leading up to 6PM they called and the Lakers made their offer. It wasn’t an offer I was going to accept because I was going to get considerable more money from another team.”

Caruso is averaging 7.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game this season. The Bulls are having a strong start to the season with 7 wins and 3 losses.
