Former head coach and current NBA on TNT analyst Stan Van Gundy commends Atlanta Hawks forward De’Andre Hunter.

Live on air, the 62-year-old mentor praised the young wingman for an outstanding job in defending Dallas Mavericks super phenom, Luka Doncic, in a marquee youth showdown within the State Farm Center.

As per ESPN Stats Info, Hunter held the Mavs to an inconsistent 1-of-13 shooting when he was the primary defender, notably 1-of-9 against Doncic. The Slovenian sensation even acknowledged the superb defensive repertoire of the 23-year-old Philadelphia native right at the post game press conference.

Atlanta demolished Dallas recently, 113-87, as star point guard Trae Young tallied 19 markers and 14 assists. Both squads are set for a regular season rematch next year on February 21.
