A small-market team made an official offer for Philadelphia 76ers’ superstar Ben Simmons, Brian Windhorst of ESPN reported on his appearance on The Scoop podcast (hat tip to Sam Amico).

Simmons expressed his unwillingness to report to the Sixers’ training camp earlier this month, while the 76ers are still searching for trade partners for a potential deal.

The Cavaliers, Timberwolves and Kings are among those believed to be trying to work on a Simmons’ deal. Now, a team made an offer for the three-time All-Star, according to Windhorst.

“I know of at least one … small market team that has made an offer and has a lot of interest, and it just hasn’t gotten public yet,” Windhorst said.

Simmons was runner-up for the DPOY award last season, averaging 14.9 points and 6.9 assists per contest during the 2020-21 regular season campaign.
