After his trade in the previous deadline, Aaron Gordon seems ready to commit his future to the Nuggets as the two sides are reportedly working on a contract extension.

According to Mike Singer of The Denver Post, there is “mutual optimism” that both sides will agree to a new contract soon. The deal could be finalized as early as this week.

“There is mutual optimism, league sources told The Denver Post, about a contract extension for Gordon. A new deal could come as early as this week, a source said,” Mike Singer wrote.

The high-flying forward is entering the last year of his current deal that he signed with the Orlando Magic three years ago. He is eligible for a four-year, $88 million extension.

Gordon was a vital part of Denver’s rotation, usually being tasked to guard the best player of the opponent team. He averaged for a four-year, $88 million extension in Denver.
