Golden State Warriors fans were witnessing another act of greatness.
Stephen Curry went off as he led the Warriors with 42 points to dethrone the Denver Nuggets in an overtime win, 137-131, scoring 35 in the second half.
The four-time NBA champion hits the game-tying triple with 21.9 seconds in regulation, as he answers back in Aaron Gordon’s clutch 10th 3-pointer in the fourth quarter.
Jimmy Butler also contributed 21 points, and Jonathan Kuminga with 14 points, helping alongside Draymond Green and Al Horford.
The Golden State is now 2-0 in its win-loss record, started the match with a 10-0 lead, and is proactive on defense, rotating with good switches on mismatches.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets also had a stellar team effort, as Gordon achieved his career high with 10 triples, totaling 50 points and 8 rebounds. Nikola Jokic triple-double with figures, 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Jamal Murray scored 25 points and 10 assists.
Although they suffered a tough loss in their opener, Gordon has proven that he has a lot more to contribute to their table.
The NBA season-opener has been going off so far, as the competition keeps on growing with spectacular moments such as Gordon-Curry’s match-up in today’s clash.
The Warriors aim to keep their winning momentum as they face the Portland Trail Blazers tomorrow at the Moda Center, while the Nuggets look forward to getting their first win against the Suns on Saturday.
