The Los Angeles Lakers could be re-uniting with their former players this offseason. It was reported that Dwight Howard is ready to return to the team after a season with the Philadelphia 76ers.

JaVale McGee, who was on the Lakers’ championship-winning squad alongside Howard in 2020, could be another option at the center position. Via Broderick Turner, Andrew Greif, Dan Woike of Los Angeles Times:

“If Gasol is out, the Lakers will need to find a starting center. And innovation could lose out to familiarity. In addition to Howard, I think JaVale McGee could be another option too.”

This past season, McGee was with the Denver Nuggets where he averaged 7.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. Currently, he is with Team USA getting ready for the quarter-final against Spain in Tokyo Olympics.
