Washington Wizards announced the hiring of Wes Unseld Jr. as their new head coach. The former Nuggets’ assistant will replace Scott Brooks as the Wizards’ head coach.

According to Adrian Wojnarwoski of ESPN, Unseld Jr. signed a four-year contract with the Washington franchise. He will be the 25th head coach in the history of the Washington Wizards.

Unseld Jr. returns to Washington after beginning his career with the Wizards as an advance/pro scout in 1997. Unseld Jr. comes to Washington after spending the past six seasons in Denver.

Prior to his six-year stint with the Nuggets, the veteran assistant coach worked with the Golden State Warriors and the Orlando Magic.
