Ben Simmons had a disappointing postseason with the Philadelphia 76ers after the Hawks eliminated the Sixers in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
As a result, Simmons will not participate in the Olympics with Australia as he chose to work on ‘individual development’ this offseason his agent Rich Paul told ESPN.
Although a standout defender, Simmons shot a putrid 34% from the free throw line in the playoffs and rarely attempted a shot averaging 9.9 per game in the series against the Hawks.
Simmons’ future in Philadelphia is unclear this offseason as his agent had to meet with 76ers management to discuss his future with the team. Simmons did not request a trade, according to the reports.
