Chris Paul’s status for the Western Conference Finals is in jeopardy after the Suns’ superstar entered the NBA health and safety protocols, per Shams Charania of the Athletic.

That means he either tested positive for the virus or was exposed to someone with the virus, putting his status for the start of the third round “up in the air”.

Paul is a huge part of the Suns’ success, averaging 16.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game during the regular season.

According to Sharania, quarantine period could be shorter for vaccinated individuals, however it’s still unclear if the veteran guard will be available for WCF series.

Phoenix is still waiting to learn which team they will face in the Conference Finals as the Clippers and the Jazz are tied 2-2 with Game 5 taking place on Wednesday.
