Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic officially joined the Slovenian national team ahead of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which will take place in Kaunas.

Doncic had his first practice with Slovenia as relayed by Eurohoops. Slovenia will face Croatia Wednesday and Friday in preparation games ahead of the tournament.

Slovenia is looking for its first-ever participation in the Olympics and their first appearance in a major international competition since 2017.

Doncic will be a huge part of the team’s potential success after completing a great season in the NBA averaging 27.7 points, 8.6 and 8.0 rebounds in the regular season.

He then proceeded in the postseason amping up his numbers to 35.7 points (on 49.0 percent shooting), 10.3 assists and 7.9 rebounds in a seven-game series against the Los Angeles Clippers.
