The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a big loss in Game 5 against the Phoenix Suns (85-115). One of the issues that the defending NBA champions faced in that game was players hesitating to take shots, despite getting open looks.

Four of the Lakers starters, namely Dennis Schroder, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Markieff Morris and Andre Drummond combined for total of 11 points and two of them finished the game scoreless.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel addressed the issue of his players hesitating to shoot ahead of Game 6. “It was definitely a problem in that game. For sure,” he said.

“We’re getting good situations offensively. We have to take advantage of those in every way. We have to take advantage of the situation we’re creating. And we haven’t done that. We didn’t do that last game.”
