The Los Angeles Lakers lacked a bigger contribution from Anthony Davis on the offensive end as they lost Game 1 of the first round of the playoffs against the Phoenix Suns. The 28-year-old star forward played 39 minutes as he scored 13 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 2 assists.
After the game, AD admitted that he needs to play much better if the Lakers are to win a single game, let alone the whole series against the Suns. His star teammate LeBron James was asked to talk about Davis’ comments.
“It’s always just AD being AD. Anytime he comes to the pressure and tell you guys we can’t win without him or with him playing the way he played, he always responds,” James said. “Looking forward to that. When AD is AD, then we’re the Lakers.”
