The San Antonio Spurs have officially secured their place in the play-in tournament, despite the loss to the New York Knicks.

The Spurs needed to defeat the Knicks or the Sacramento Kings to lose to the Memphis Grizzlies in order to clinch their play-in spot.

Even though they lost to the Knicks on the road (98-102), San Antonio took advantage of the Kings’ loss to the Grizzlies (110-116) and will now be in the play-in tournament for a second straight season.

The Spurs and the Grizzlies could face each other next week, as they are 10th and 9th in the West, respectively.
