Los Angeles Lakers took a nose dive in the Western Conference standings since LeBron James and Anthony Davis went down with injuries.

According to former Lakers’ and NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal, Frank Vogel’s squad is the only team that doesn’t need home-court advantage to win a series in the playoff.

“The difference between the Lakers and any other team is that the Lakers don’t need home-court advantage. When you got guys like LeBron and AD, they can steal a game on the opponent’s floor. Utah and (other top 4) teams need home-court advantage. Lakers do not.”

Frank Vogel’s team was second in the West at one point during the first part of the season. However, with many injuries occurred to several key rotational pieces, the Lakers went down to the 5th place in the conference.

If James and Davis are 100% healthy in the postseason, the Lakers can beat any team, even if they haven’t have home-court advantage.

Although they need to stay afloat for the time being as they chose to take a cautious approach on James and Davis injuries, the defending champions are considered among the favorites to win the NBA title.
