The NBA reported just two positive COVID-19 cases prior to last weekend’s All-Star break, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. It’s also reported that no positive cases have been confirmed since the break.
The Philadelphia 76ers Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid were forced to miss the All-Star Game due to contact tracing, having come into contact with a barber who later tested positive. The players have both tested negative and should be back in action for their team this week.
“Well, I think it’s, it’s very unfortunate that Joel and Ben won’t be able to play on our game tonight,” LeBron James said on Sunday. “Obviously, they are two worthy All-Stars and this means a lot to all of us even no matter how you feel about having to be here.”
