Kyrie Irving only played in eleven games his freshman year of college, but made quite the impression. Despite being hurt for a large part of the season, Kyrie still became the #1 pick in 2011. Irving’s former Duke teammate Andre Dawkins says he knew Kyrie would soon be an NBA star after their first few practices.

(Via Dawkins on Duke):

“I remember as soon as he got there, first couple practices and I’m like ‘He shouldn’t be here, it’s not fair. He shouldn’t be at this level, he should go skip straight to the next level man.’ It was crazy.”
