Ben Simmons is one of the most versatile defenders in the league as he has the ability to guard players from ‘1’ to ‘5’, according to the Sixers’ coach Doc Rivers.

(via Keith Pompey of Philadelphia Inquirer):

“I think Ben for sure is in that mix. Joel has had a terrific defensive year, as well. But I think Ben is, absolutely. I don’t think it’s a question who’s in it,” Rivers said.

“Ben doesn’t just play five,” Rivers continued. “He plays five, four, three, two, one. He’s played every position on the floor.

When he’s played those positions, he’s been able to come up with stops. There are very few players in the NBA that can do the things that Ben does defensively.”

Simmons has been on a great run on both ends of the floor, after a slow start to the season. The four-time All-Star averages 16.0 points, 8.8 rebounds and 7.7 assists for Philadelphia this season.
