The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a big loss to the Utah Jazz. The reigning NBA champions were beaten by 25 points. Once again, the Lakers were without Anthony Davis and Dennis Schroder. While AD will be out for several weeks, Schroder’s return is really close.

According to the Lakers head coach Frank Vogel, the German point guard could play as soon as on Friday in a game against the Portland Trail Blazers. “It’s still possible that he plays Friday. We’re still hopeful that he clears protocols,” Vogel said after the loss to Utah.

“Dennis carries a big load for us. He’s a big-minute guy that really moves the needle for us on the defensive end with his containment and pressure, sets the tone for us.

Obviously, the versatility he brings offensively with the ability to bring the ball up and have another ball handler alongside Bron. But also carry the scoring load as well. I think we missed him on both sides of the ball.”
