Luka Doncic was voted for the second consecutive season as a member of the All-Star team being among the players that were elected to be in the starting lineup.

Several peers and fans around the league believed the Portland Trail Blazers’ superstar Damian Lillard should be a starter instead of Luka Doncic.

(via Tim MacMahon of ESPN):

“I didn’t expect that I was going to start this game. I know that maybe [Damian] Lillard deserved it more than me,” Doncic said.

Doncic registers great numbers this season averaging 29.1 points, 9.4 assists, and 8.6 rebounds through 27 games with the Dallas Mavericks.

On the other hand, Lillard puts up 29.8, 7.7 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game leading the Blazers to an 18-10 record. Dallas has started the season with a 13-15 record heading to the All-Star break.
