LeBron James was close to adding an interesting chapter to his career as an athlete. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar is a huge football fan and watches the sport all the time. During the NBA lockout of the 2011-2012 season he strongly considered trying out for an NFL team.

And James is confident he would have made the team. Two teams actually wanted him to try out for them, namely the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks. But in the end the NBA season resumed and LeBron won his first championship in 2012.

“I would have made the team,” James confidently said via The Athletic as reported by ClutchPoints. “I would have tried out, but I would have made the team. One thing about it, I don’t mind working for something, so if I would have had to try out for the Cowboys or the Seahawks, or if I’d have stayed home and went back home to Cleveland, I’d have tried (out), but I would have made the team. I just know what I’m capable of doing on the football field. Especially at that age.”
