LeBron James and Magic Johnson are confident the Philadelphia 76ers are a top title contender this season.

The Sixers currently are on top of the Eastern Conference (13-6) and both James and Johnson believe Philadelphia is a championship-caliber team.

“I think it’s a really good team they put together. … There’s a lot of teams in the Eastern Conference that are going to play championship basketball down the stretch. I know they think they are going to be one of them,” LeBron said, via Ryan Ward of Lakers Daily.

“The moves made by Sixers President Daryl Morey — signing Danny Green, Dwight Howard, and Seth Curry — have made the Sixers a championship caliber team,” Magic Johnson tweeted.

The Sixers handed LeBron James and the Lakers their first road loss (106-107) and put an end to the defending champions’ 10-game winning streak away from Staples Center.
