After being up in the air, the game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets will take place, as the 76ers have nine eligible players.

Joel Embiid, Danny Green and Paul Reed were cleared from health and safety protocol, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

However, clearance from the health and safety protocol doesn’t guarantee that Embiid will play today, as he just counts as an eligible player toward the eight necessary players for the 76ers to avoid postponement, notes Wojnarowski.

The nine eligible players include Ben Simmons, Tyrese Maxey, Isaiah Joe, Dwight Howard, Dakota Mathias, Tony Bradley and the three who recently got cleared, Embiid, Green and Reed.

76ers’ Tobias Harris, Shake Milton, Matisse Thybulle and Vincent Poirier are each out today against the Nuggets due to health and safety protocols and will receive a quarantine period, according to Shams Charania.

The game was on the verge of being the NBA’s second COVID-19-related postponement of the season, due to several players being deemed close contact to Seth Curry who recently tested positive for COVID-19.

A 76ers’ staff member also tested positive on Jan. 8.
