Frank Vogel opened up about why he decided to have Wesley Matthews in the starting lineup of the Lakers for the game against the Bulls.

Vogel said Matthews could contain Chicago star guard Zach LaVine, while he could also help the Lakers offensively from beyond the arc.

“He’s a good shooter. I always believe the ball is going in when Wes shoots it… It’s just a matter of him getting quality shots,” Vogel said about Matthews, via Harrison Faigen of Silver Screen and Roll.

Matthews had 14 points and four three-pointers (4/8) in the contest, whereas LaVine exploded for 38 points for the Bulls (14/22 shooting, 4/7 from beyond the arc).
