The Washington Wizards claimed their first win of the season, after five straight defeats. Rookie Deni Avdija expressed his belief that the Wizards are going to be good despite their bad start.

“We can have seven, eight straight losses and we still believe in ourselves… Mark my words. We’re gonna be good,” the rookie from Israel said, via Fred Katz of The Athletic.

The Wizards put a stop to their five-game losing streak thanks to Bradley Beal, who scorched the Minnesota Timberwolves’ defense with 31 points.

Avdija showed up with 11 points and seven rebounds to become a part of the seven-player group that scored in double digits.

That was the first time in his NBA career Avdija scored in double digits. At the same time, he added three assists and three steals to show his versatility in the wing.

The Wizards played without Russell Westbrook sharing the scoring duties in a blowout win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
