Luka Doncic took the blame for the loss of the Dallas Mavericks to the Phoenix Suns in the season opener (102-106).

Doncic finished the game with 32 points (11/26 shooting, 0/6 from beyond the arc), eight rebounds and five assists.

Doncic also opened up about what he and the Mavs should change in the coming games: “Attack the paint, for sure. I’ve got to stop taking these very bad shots.

It wasn’t just the last one, but it was a couple of them. It’s not good for me, it’s not good for the team and I’ve got to change it,” Doncic told Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News.

Doncic and the Mavericks will take on the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center on Christmas Day.
