During his recent appearance on All The Smoke podcast hosted by former NBA forwards Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, the Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George shared the story of his 2014 devastating leg injury while he was playing with Team USA.

The six-time NBA All-Star, who signed an extension with the Clippers this offseason, talks about how it impacted his career and the difficulties of coming back from it.

Paul George is already set to make $35.4 million in 2020-21, and his new deal – worth roughly $190 million in total – will now tack on an additional four years to his contract, tying him to the Clippers through at least 2023-24 season.

Last season, George averaged 21.5 points on a career-high 41.2% shooting, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in the regular season. He averaged 18.5 points on 34.7% in the Clippers’ first-round series against the Dallas Mavericks and attributed that partly to struggles with mental health.
