Tristan Thompson has officially become a US Citizen, as announced by the USCIS Western Region.

Thompson, a Canadian native, shared his excitement about this development.

“I came to the U.S. on a student visa and have always had big dreams. I’m now truly living the American dream,” Thompson said in a statement to USCIS.

Thompson came to the US back in 2009 to attend the University of Texas on a student visa. He then joined the Cleveland Cavaliers and spent nine years with the team (2011-2020).

A few days ago, Thompson agreed to a two-year deal with the Boston Celtics, worth $19M.
