Dwight Howard made an interesting statement regarding his head coach in the Philadelphia 76ers, Doc Rivers.
Howard said Rivers was the only coach to call and recruit him directly during free agency.
“Dwight Howard said Doc Rivers was the only coach to call and recruit him directly during free agency. He said that locked him in on coming to the Sixers, and he said talking to Rajon Rondo helped him get an appreciation for what playing for Rivers would be like,” Tim Bontemps of ESPN reports.
Howard, who won the 2020 NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers, signed an one-year deal with the Sixers, worth $2.5M.
