The Milwaukee Bucks are ‘cautiously confident’ Giannis Antetokounmpo will sign his supermax contract extension.

Per Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Bucks have gained confidence that the “Greek Freak” will remain with the franchise long term.

“Internally, league sources said, the Bucks have gone from cautiously optimistic to cautiously confident in recent weeks that the outcome will be favorable when Antetokounmpo returns from Greece, where he has been since mid-September,” Windhorst reports.

Antetokounmpo is eligible for a five-year, supermax extension, worth between $228M and $240M. If he declines it, though, he will become a free agent in 2021.
