Gordon Hayward may decide to leave the Boston Celtics this offseason, according to Adam Wells of Bleacher Report.

Hayward has one year left on his current, four-year, contract with Boston and has a player option worth $34M for the 2020/21 season.

“On The Bill Simmons Podcast (starts at 56-minute mark), Ryen Russillo reported that Hayward “does want out” of his deal for the 2020-21 season,” Wells reports, via RealGM.

If Hayward exercises his option, he will remain with the team. Alternatively, he will become a free agent.

In the 2019-2020 season, Hayward averaged 17.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 52 games.
