Recently, Kyrie Irving joined his teammate Kevin Durant on his new podcast. The Brooklyn Nets superstar point guard made a big statement saying he doesn’t need a head coach.

“We don’t need somebody come in and put their coaching philosophy on everything that we’re doing and change out the wheel and ‘Yo, guys you need to start doing this’ and we start running on the first day of practice,” Irving said. “And it’s just like ‘No’. I don’t really see us having a head coach. KD could be a head coach. I could be a head coach.”

Irving’s stance did not go well with sports analyst Chris Broussard. He went on a rant saying every team needs a head coach, giving examples of some of the great head coaches that led their teams to success.

“Kyrie Irving says he doesn’t need a coach to come in and bring their philosophy when that’s EXACTLY what they need! That’s what Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, & Gregg Popovich did!!” Broussard said on The Odd Couple podcast with Rob Parker.
