Mike D’Antoni could emerge as a top candidate for the New Orleans Pelicans, per Kevin O’Connor of the Ringer.

According to O’Connor, there have been ”rumblings for weeks” that D’Antoni could become the next head coach of the Pelicans.

D’Antoni parted ways with Houston after four years and is now a free agent.

For its part, New Orleans fired Alvin Gentry after the team fell apart in the “bubble” and are looking for his replacement.

D’Antoni has already been linked with a move to the Philadelphia 76ers.
