CJ McCollum opened up about why he was not in favor of canceling the remainder of the 2019/20 season.

The superstar of the Portland Trail Blazers said the players have a duty to live up to and should carry on playing, despite the current social climate in the United States.

“I wasn’t because I feel like we have a responsibility and obligation to use our platform to take advantage of our situation as NBA players.

And to continue to try to push this game forward for the next generation while inspiring kids that come from our neighborhoods,” McCollum said, via Aaron Fentress of The Oregonian.

NBA players boycotted Wednesday’s and Thursday’s games in order to protest for the shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin over the weekend.

The playoffs will resume on Saturday, with McCcollum and the Blazers facing the Lakers in Game 5.
