The Philadelphia 76ers had practice yesterday in preparation for the final eight games of the season along with the highly anticipated playoffs. For a team that has been booted out of the playoffs early for two years straight, this time around has to be different for them. This is why Joel Embiid showed his growth to Brett Brown yesterday.

The two superstars on the Sixers in Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid will have to be more vocal and be better leaders in the enclosed bubble that the NBA has put them in. Embiid has already started the steps necessary in order to bring better chemistry to this team.

According to J Blevins of 97.3 ESPN, Joel Embiid said to head coach Brett Brown:

“All we have is each other in here.”

Teams have experienced extended road trips but staying together for a possible three months is a new animal. The Sixers have lacked the chemistry necessary in the past. They could get swallowed up in an environment where that is crucial. Embiid walking up to Brown and saying this is important for the Sixers.
