The Oklahoma City Thunder have waived guard Otega Oweh, creating an available two-way roster spot for the addition of Micah Peavy.
The move comes after Oweh suffered a ruptured right Achilles tendon during the preseason, an injury that will keep him sidelined for the entire 2026-27 NBA campaign.
With Oweh unable to contribute this season, Oklahoma City has decided to use the roster spot to bring in another player who can provide additional depth.
Peavy is expected to join the Thunder on a two-way contract, which would allow him to split time between Oklahoma City and its G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue.
Under the reported arrangement, Peavy would be eligible to appear in up to 49 NBA games this season, provided his contract is finalized before the end of the weekend.
