It has been two and a half months since the NBA suspended the season on March 11. Since then, players had limited to no access to practice facilities and no five-on-five basketball. Therefore, additional time to get back to basketball shape will be required before the season is resumed.

Los Angeles Lakers forward Jared Dudley has previously tweeted that the players would need at least 2/3 weeks of training and 7/10 regular season games to prepare for the playoffs.

According to the latest reports, the NBA considers going straight to the playoffs once the season is resumed. The issue of players getting prepared for the playoffs again came up on Twitter. Dudley responded to tweet saying that the players ‘have relayed the message’ that they need a minimum of 5 games to get ready for the season. It is not yet known what solution the league will propose but the Lakers veteran is confident in commissioner Adam Silver to find a solution.
