FC Barcelona beats Real Madrid 83-81 and is the new winner of the Liga Endesa after a great basketball show displayed by both teams.  Navarro was named the MVP of the Finals.

The game started well for FC Barcelona, which soon took the lead helped by a fast offensive game, similar to the show displayed in the previous game, and supported by their loyal fans, who created a great atmosphere in the gym, like the Finals deserve

The game was really intense, with both sides almost literally fighting in every play. The referees could hardly control the game, and they had to call a couple of technical fouls to cool everybody down. Nevertheless, the “white team” managed to finish the first half only 5 points behind Barcelona, with Tomic scoring 10 and Rudy adding 9 for each team.

The start of the second half followed the same plot, only that the referees decided to eject Pablo Laso. The coach leaving the court in a wheelchair will arguably be one of the images of the year in the league. Still, the home team could keep an 8-points advantage which seemed too low according to what was happening on the court and Real Madrid’s chaotic game.

Another of the shocking images of the Finals came when Salah Mejri had to leave the court with his left knee injured. According to how he cried in the bench, he will presumably be sidelined for a long time.

Real Madrid, without Mejri and their coach, managed to tie the match thanks to a partial score of 5-15 with just one minute remaining. But then Lampe hit the most crutial shoot of his life, the one for which he will be remembered. A three-pointer from the corner which made the gym erupt and almost closed the game.

<>The visiting team tried to reduce the gap in a lossing effort. The game was over. No time left. Thus, Real Madrid ended the season losing two finals, firs Euroeague against Maccabi and now Liga Endesa, after being arguably the team which displayed the best basketball in Europe. But it is the end that matters… Congratulations to the new champion !
