Brooklyn Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie is a cryptocurrency enthusiast and wants his fans to be engaged in its adoption. Recently, he launched a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of raising $24,632,630 which equals to 2,625.80 bitcoin. If he manages to gather such amount, he promised to let the fans decide his next team.

Dinwiddie would then sign a one-year contract with a team chosen by his fans. In case his goal is not reached, he promised to donate the money to charity, via GoFundMe:

“I’m simply creating this GoFundMe as my commitment to my previous tweets. As of now 2625.8 BTC is roughly equivalent to $24,632,630 USD. If we hit the target then I will allow the fan base to determine my next team decision and sign a one year contract at that destination. If we do not hit the target goal then I will be donating 100% of this campaign to charity. Fan engagement comes in all shapes and sizes, lets have fun folks!”

This season, Dinwiddie is averaging 20.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game. He is currently on a 3-year contract with Brooklyn (expires in 2022) and will earn $10,605,600 this year.
