The Dallas Mavericks will not rush to re-open the team’s practice facilities, said team owner Mark Cuban on 77 Minutes in Heaven Podcast. According to him, unless testing for asymptomatic players is available, it is not worth the risk.

Via Tim MacMahon of ESPN:

“The problem obviously is that because we can’t test people, then we can’t assure anybody’s safety, whether they’re basketball players or anybody else. Even though we can try to take all different kinds of precautions, it’s just not worth it – particularly when our guys are staying in shape and they’re going outside and shooting on outdoor hoops and working out in various ways. So I just don’t think the risk is worth the reward.”

Some NBA teams will be re-opening their practice facilities as soon as this Friday (May 8). Other teams are expected to follow suit next week. The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly targeting May 16.
