The upcoming episodes of The Last Dance will display a disgraceful rivalry between Michael Jordan and Steve Kerr in 1995 when Jordan hit Kerr in the eye during a Chicago Bulls training.

Former Bulls center Will Perdue was asked if the basketball legend was using his fists during team workouts because there is a story that he also got some blows from Michael. Perdue said that did indeed happen, and that fights were reasonably frequent by that time, so practice didn’t even end after fighting, per CBS Sports:

“He did, and I wasn’t the only one,” Perdue said. “That’s how competitive our practices were. That wasn’t the only fight, that was one of numerous. But because it involved Michael Jordan, and it leaked out, that it became a big deal. And the funny thing was, in that practice that it happened, we basically separated, regrouped and kept practicing – it wasn’t like that was the end of practice. Stuff like that was common, because that’s how competitive our practices were.”
