CSKA Moscow handed Real Madrid its first loss in the Euroleague this season with an 85-71 win in Group F.

A 23-10 first quarter set the tone for the Russian side as they led for the vast majority of the contest. CSKA were without Sonny Weems and Kyle Hines while Madrid were without the service of Jaycee Carroll.

Nenad Krstic led the winners with 18 points, helped by 14 points from both Andrey Vorontsevich and Vladimir Micov.

With Rudy Fernandez struggling from the field, only going 2/13 overall, overall stat sheet stuffers were few and far between for the Liga Endesa league leaders. Sergio Rodriguez had 19 points to lead the visitors.

Elsewhere in the group, Galatasaray grabbed a vital 72-66 road win over Bayern Munich.

Bayern are now 2-2 in the group while Galatasaray collects its first win the group. Carlos Arroyo led the winners with 21 points.

Malcolm Delaney hit 12 points to lead the Germans.

Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv had no problem defeating Partizan, as the Israelis won 88-67 in the third Group F game.

Leading 20-11 after the first ten minutes, Maccabi’s lead ballooned to 47-19 at half-time as they ran their Serbian counterparts right off the court.

Alex Tyus had 16 points to lead Maccabi who are now 4-0 notch their eighth straight Euroleague win.

In Group E, Fenerbahce edged Panathinaikos 77-72 in Istanbul as current Fenerbahce coach Zeljko Obradovic faced his former club for the first time since his return to coaching this season.

It was Panathinaikos’ first loss this season despite a great comeback in the fourth where they came back from a double-digit deficit to tie the game in the last minutes of the game. Fenerbahce kept their wits about them enough to seal a deserved win.

Bojan Bogdanovic led the hosts with 15.

Barcelona defeated Unicaja Malaga 83-79 in the other Group E game in the Catalan capital.

Bostjan Nachbar led Barca with 13 points, while Carlos Suarez responded with 15 for Malaga.
