La Bruixa d’Or sent a shockwave or two around the Liga Endesa by upsetting Gran Canaria away from home 85-70.

The visitors set the tone early, leading 33-15 after the first quarter, and despite Gran Canaria fighting back in the second, were unable to reduce the deficit as the stunned crowd looked on as a two-game winning streak was snapped.

Dominic Waters led La Bruixa d’Or with 17 points, off the bench. Ben Hansbrough matched Waters’ tally but had no supporting cast.

With the surprising loss, Barcelona were able to get some breathing space near the top with a 96-63 destruction job against Murcia.

Jacob Pullen led the winners with 18 points as Barca started strongly, and after leading 48-33 at half-time, there was no way back for Murcia.

Real Madrid won game number 15 out of 15 in the Liga Endesa with a routine 96-81 win at home against Fuenlabrada.

Nikola Mirotic led Real with 23 points, with Andy Panko scoring a game-high 27 points for Fuenlabrada.

Valencia stays second the league following a comfortable 92-67 home success over Tenerife.

The hosts started the better of the two sides, and when Valencia were leading 51-29 at half-time, there was only ever going to be one winner. To their credit though, Tenerife plugged away and kept the scoreline as respectable as possible towards the end, but the deficit was too much.

Montenegrin Bojan Dubljevic and Rafael Martinez had 15 points each to lead Valencia as coach Velimir Perasovic used this game to rest his leading scorer Justin Doellman, who came off the bench to score 10 points in 19 minutes.

Labroal Kutxa survived to beat Gipuzkoa 78-76, but Andres Nocioni’s team-high 18 points nearly counted for nothing.

David Dobias had a game-high 22 points for Gipuzkoa and they were in a position to win the game when a missed free throw was collected by Jason Robinson who went straight to the bucket, but his lay-up fell short in heavy traffic.

Elsewhere, Unicaja Malaga thrashed helpless Valladolid 112-58 at home. Ryan Toolson came off the bench to score 21 points in 15 minutes for Unicaja. 10 of those 21 came from the foul line.

Joventut Badalona are in the top half of the Liga Endesa following an 80-70 win over Bilbao.

John Shurna led Badalona with 18 points and four three-pointers as the Catalan side move nearer to the top five.

Cajasol recorded an 80-71 win over Monbus and Zaragoza secure an 89-62 away win at Estudiantes.
