Sacramento Kings’ guard Cory Joseph will donate thousands of protective masks in Toronto hospitals to help battle the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Canadian native decided to help his country fight the virus in an effort to give the brave medical workers extra protection.

“It is heartbreaking to witness the effects of this pandemic around the world, so I wanted to do my part to help where I grew up,” Joseph said via the Kings’ press release on Wednedsay. “The courageous work of the hospital community is admirable, and it is important to help protect them. I look forward to providing support in Toronto along with upcoming community efforts throughout Canada and Sacramento as we fight this virus together.”

Joseph is from Pickering, Ontario and played for two seasons (2015-2017) in his native country, with the Toronto Raptors.

Furthermore, he played in the FIBA Basketball World Cup with Canada NT last summer under Raptors head coach Nick Nurse.
