Real Madrid and Barcelona both won over the weekend to stay unbeaten in the Liga Endesa. The Catalan side at times showed what they can be capable of while Madrid were less than convincing away to Murcia.

Real Madrid though, in the end came out 88-81 winners against a stubborn Murcia side. Rudy Fernandez led the winners with 22 points as a third quarter charge from last year’s Euroleague runners-up proved pivotal.

Kim Tille led Murcia with 23 points and 10 rebounds as his side slips to 1-2.

Barcelona also won on the road, beating La Bruixa d’Or 81-71 as Ante Tomic led the Catalan side with 20 points and 8 rebounds.

After a close first period, Barcelona showed their class by racing to a 42-34 lead at half-time and from there, the hosts were unable to get themselves into the game despite good efforts.

Laboral Kutxa scored their first win of the season with a 79-66 win over Estudiantes.

The hosts built a 20-11 lead after ten minutes and Estudiantes were unable to recover. They made a brief run in the second quarter only to be hit in the third quarter with a array of transition buckets from the Euroleague side.

Andres Nocioni led Laboral Kutxa with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Andres Miso led the visitors with 11 points.

Gran Canaria remained unbeaten in the Liga Endesa with an 83-72 road win at Bilbao who unexpectedly fall to 0-3.

Nacho Martin kept up his good start with a game-high 30 points in the win. Leading by six at the half, the visitors extended their advantage after three quarters to lead 66-51 at they never looked back from there.

Valencia inflicted a first defeat of the season of Unicaja Malaga by edging them 74-71 as both sides own 2-1 records.

Romain Sato scored 25 points to lead the winners, as he seems to be enjoying his spell in Spain following his term with Fenerbahce last season.

Elsewhere in the Liga Endesa, Zaragoza got their second win of the season with an 86-82 win at Manresa who are still searching for their first win of the season.

Icelandic international Jon Steffansson led the winners with 28 points.

Joventut Badalona got their first win of the season with a 64-62 away win over Legun Aro.

Guillem Vives led the league ‘other’ Catalan side with 16 points.

Canarias are another side that find themselves 3-0 by downing Fuenlabrada 90-82 at home.

Biagota Sekulic was an major impact for the winners with 32 points and 8 rebounds.

Valladolid got their first win of the season by beating winless Cajasol Seville 81-68.  Omari Johnson led Valladolid with 18 points.
