Real Madrid produced a second quarter masterclass as they thrashed Laboral Kutxa 105-72 to start the Liga Endesa season 2-0.
Only leading 26-25 after the first ten minutes, Madrid stepped it up a gear in the second as they hit 32 points to lead 58-42 at the break. From there, Laboral were powerless to stop Madrid’s transition game.
Jaycee Carroll led Real with 25 points with Sergio Rodriguez contributing with 14 points and 13 assists.

The Catalan derby ended up with Barcelona taking the victory over Joventut Badalona, as expected – but the 83-80 scoreline was closer than what many had expected.
Badalona had threatened an upset on their home court, leading 58-47 after three quarters and in control. Barcelona’s firepower eventually told as they hit 36 points in the final quarter to take the game.
15 points from Marcelinho Huertas secured the win for the visitors. John Shurna had 17 for Joventut.
Unicaja Malaga eased past Cajasol 85-65 on the road on Seville as they won every quarter, en route to the win.
Nik Caner-Medley hit a game-high 21 points for Joan Plaza’s side. Czech international Tomas Satoransky hit 15 for Cajasol.
Gran Caneria used a second half showing to outgun Murcia 86-69.
Tied at 41-41 at half-time, the hosts pulled away in the third to get the win, as they improve to 2-0 for the new season.
Nacho Martin led Gran Caneria with 16 points.
Fuenlabrada recorded a stunning come-from-behind 75-72 win over Bilbao to secure their first win of the season.
This latest loss leaves Bilbao at 0-2 already this season as they lost grip of an 11-point lead going into the fourth quarter to lose.
James Feldeine led the winners with 20 points, cancelling out Alex Mumbru’s 22 points for Bilbao.
Valencia defeated Lagun Aro 87-58 as they scored their first win of the season.
Bojan Dubljevic led Valencia with 18 points.
The other three games in the ACB saw wins for Canarias, as they saw-off Zaragoza 66-60. Estudiantes thrashed winless Valladolid 80-66 and La Bruixa d’Or went 2-0 after an 88-71 success at Manresa.
