Real Madrid have signed former All-Euroleague center Ioannis Bourousis from EA7 Milano.

The Greek big man averaged 14 points and 8.3 rebounds in nine Euroleague games last season despite playing less than 25 minutes per night. The greatness of his production from last season can be seen when broken down by minute; Bourousis ranked second in the league in per-minute performance index ranking (31.3 over 40 minutes), seventh in scoring (23.2 ppg.) and fourth in rebounds (13.8 rpg.) in the regular season.

Bourousis joined Milano from Olympiacos Piraeus, where he had played five straight seasons. He was named to the 2008-09 All-Euroleague First Team and appeared in two Euroleague Final Fours – in 2009 and 2010 – with the Reds.

He also helped the club win the 2010 and 2011 Greek Cup. Bourousis started his pro career at AEK Athens of Greece in 2002 and stayed there until 2006. In May of that year he moved to Spain for a brief stint with FC Barcelona to play in the Spanish League Playoffs, but that summer he joined Olympiacos. Bourousis has accumulated 1,346 points and 928 rebounds – he is eighth in career Euroleague boards – over 165 Euroleague career games.
