Banchi moves from Siena to Milan

EA7 Milano have appointed Luca Banchi as their new head coach for the upcoming Euroleague season.

Banchi arrives in the fashion capital fresh off a double-winning season with champions Montepaschi Siena, where he won the Italian league and the Italian Cup. Banchi also won six league titles in Tuscany as an assistant coach.

Banchi, who has head coach experience with Italy’s under-20 and ‘B’ team said: “I am proud to have the opportunity to sit on a bench in which legends like Cesare Rubini, Dan Peterson, Mike D’Antoni and so many others sat before me. Olimpia has been a reference for many years, not just in Italy.

“My goal is to bring it back to the top level, full of excitement and enthusiasm. I hope we can put together a team which our fans can be proud of.”
