The ‘last thing’ the NBA wants is to cancel the 2020 playoffs, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

Windhorst believes the NBA will do its best to have a normal playoff schedule, even if it means shortening the end of the 2019-20 regular season.

“When it comes to the time frame in the league, I know people are talking about July or August, as far as I’m concerned, when you get down to it, the last thing the NBA wants to do is cancel the playoffs.

They will wait until, in my view, the last possible second to do that. Whether or not they have to play a series of single-elimination games, they will not want to do that,” Windhorst said on The Hoop Collective Podcast, as transcribed by Real GM.

The NBA has suspended the season for at least 30 days due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
