Chicago Bulls and Great Britain international Luol Deng looks set to skip this year’s Eurobasket finals in Slovenia.

Fatigue has caught up with Deng, who combined playing nearly 40 minutes a game with the Bulls last season with realising a dream, playing for Great Britain at last summer’s Olympics Games in London.

Deng played in London against the wishes of the Chicago Bulls management as he played at the Games with a wrist injury that required surgery. The 27-year-old ex-Brixton Topcat player also spent the summer of 2011 playing for GB at Eurobasket in Lithuania.

“I’m not sure 100% if I’m playing, most likely I’m not,” Deng told British basketball magazine MVP 24/7 in Houston as he gets set to make his second appearance at the NBA All Star Game.“I would like to have a summer off, especially the one coming up. Last year I wanted to do the Olympics and I showed how much I wanted to do it.

“But this summer coming up, I think I’ll tone it down a little bit more. It doesn’t change whether I’ll be with the team or not. But I said that before the Olympics.”
